SAMHSA has established a toll-free helpline to help individuals and communities in response to disasters. You can call 1-800-985-5990, or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746. SAMHSA is dedicated to delivering an effective mental health and substance abuse response to disasters. This helpline provides 24/7/365 crisis counseling and support to anyone in the United States & territories struggling with difficult emotions before, during, or in the immediate or long-term aftermath of natural and human-caused disasters (including incidents of mass violence). These calls and texts will be answered by trained counselors from a network of crisis centers across the country.
