The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on October 26, 2013 was a true success! According to the DEA website, this was the second largest collection of medications in the seven Take Back Days that has been held. Citizens turned in 324 tons (647,211 pounds to be exact) of expired and unwanted medications for safe and proper disposal. A total of 5,683 take back sites were acceptingthe prescription meds for take back day. Pennsylvania had 38, 493 pounds of medications turned in.
