A Candlelight vigil will be held on August 6, 2015 on the Washington County Courthouse steps. Bringing awareness of the growing drug epidemic that is killing our loved ones and destroying our communities. Don’t let those that have lost the battle of addiction, die in vain. Help increase the awareness of addiction. This event is sponsored by Washington Drug and Alcohol Commission Inc. (WDAC) and Not One More – Pittsburgh Chapter.
The Pre-Vigil Rally – Memory March will be held prior to the vigil at 6:00 p.m.
Memory walkers will march from Turning Point located at 199 N. Main Street and from the City Mission located on 84 W. Wheeling Street. Both groups will meet at the Washington County Courthouse steps for the Candlelight vigil. If you have lost someone to addiction, make a poster with their photo, include their birthday and Angel date (date of death) and join the march.
Registration begins at 6:00 at the Court House. Music will be provided by Corey James.
The program will begin promptly at 7:00. Speakers will include: Washington County Coroner- Tim Warco, A Grieving Parent-Becky Kallal-Perkovich, Kristen Trussa who is in Long Term Recovery, to name a few. Followed by the candlelighting ceremony and reading the names that have lost their battle with addiction.
Don’t let those that have lost their battle of addiction die in vain, help increase the awareness of addiction. Come join us. If you would like to sit during the vigil, please bring your own chair.
